Paper lantern, can you carry a message
for me?
In a locket tucked inside a basket of
thieves
And wrapped around is a cloth I held
on to when
I was but a child to comfort me
And we’re all running in circles
And we’re all playing with fire
But who will step in to extinguish the
flame
Cause we all need a steady hand to
grasp
Daily miscalculations
Lead to daily exaggerations
And when nothing is left
How about we start over again
And never look back
This is just something I've been working on for the past month or so. It's nowhere near complete, but I still felt like posting it. I have this tune in my head of how I would want it to sound as a song, but I think it looks fine as a poem as well. What do you guys think?
Peace Out~

:) I think it works very well as a song! I've always thought poems are like songs - they just need someone to write the music. *Is a poem writer too* Have you written any more of this since you posted it here? :D
